Grace, Pickett and Zion, Oshkosh Combine Services for WLA Traveling Choir on Valentine's Day 2010

There are three dual parishes in the WLA Association which have one pastor serving two different congregations: Zion, Theresa/Emmanuel, Hartford–Pastor Ken Bittorf; St. Luke's, Knowles/St. Paul's, Town Lomira–Pastor Matt Kuske, and Grace, Pickett/Zion, Oshkosh–Pastor Russell Kloehn.  Pastor Kloehn will be combining his two congregations on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 10:00 AM at Grace, Pickett (502 Cty. Hwy M, Pickett, WI, 54964) when the WLA Traveling Choir presents the service "An Invitation to the Living Water".

Parents and congregations members are invited to a light fellowship hour after the service at Grace.

A New Look

For a while now when I go to my own blog, I think, "Man, this looks cluttered." I've tried widening the column widths via geeky template coding methods, but I wasn't successful in the past. That is until yesterday when I happened to visit the blog of Steven W. Anderson, a teacher who goes by the handle @web20classroom on Twitter. His blog, Blogging About the Web 2.0 Connected Classroom, was wide and not cluttered, so I asked him how he did it. He was so nice to get back to me right away and give me a couple tips. Funny thing? It's just the Minima Stretch template from Blogger's normal templates. (Duh, Dale!)

Let me know what you think. Ultimately, a blog's look and ease of navigation will either encourage or discourage repeat visitors (that and timely topics). If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment. Have a wonderful day!

Two Bible Visualizations on the Unity of Scripture

Yingyan Huang, a graphic designer, recently created two Bible visualizations that emphasize the unity of Scripture.

The first visualization, “The Harmony of the Gospels—250 Events in the Life of Christ,” identifies 250 events recorded in the Gospels, arranges them chronologically, and plots them to reveal which events occurred in which Gospels. In effect, it’s a visualization of the Composite Gospel Index, though the visualization is apparently using a different data set.

The second visualization, “A Single Story—The Bible through the Lens of 250 Events,” starts with the same 250 events but extends references to them into the Old Testament and the remainder of the New Testament. This visualization shows the centrality of Christ in the Bible.

Both visualizations convey useful information. I wish they were available in larger sizes, but even the low-resolution versions give you a sense of the message behind the images.
